Minimum Requirements for Consideration

1. Undergraduate students who are majoring in the mathematical sciences with an overall GPA of 3.5, who have typically completed at least 11 college mathematics courses at the calculus I level or higher, the minimum GPA for consideration is 3.8, with at least a B- in every such course. Course level and depth as well as time to graduation are also taken into consideration.

2. Graduate students who typically have had at least 27 credit hours of graduate mathematical sciences courses at Appalachian State University, and who have maintained at least a 4.00 GPA in those courses

4. Members of the Appalachian State University faculty in mathematics or related subjects.

5. Any persons who have achieved distinction in a mathematical science.
