Making the Transition from Euclidean to Non-Euclidean Geometry Through Exploration

Don Spickler

We will examine portions of a series of explorations developed for students to experimentally make the transition from Euclidean to Non-Euclidean geometry. The explorations are packaged as small modules that can easily be arranged into one or more formal computer laboratories or be used as class demonstrations. This series of explorations was constructed from several conjecturing exercises that were given to an upper level Geometric Structures class.
