Influences for Maria writing her Calculus Text
Maria Agnesi was not a person that enjoyed a lot of
attention. If she could of had her way, she would of
become a nun but her father would allow it. Maria was
responsible for the education of her brothers, and in
an attempt to teach them mathematics, she wrote
"Analytic Institutions." While Maria was printing her
book, she stayed in contact with other mathematicians,
asking their advice about what she was writing. If
Maria had not been denied her request to become a nun,
then "Analytical Institutions" may not have been
written.
