Program Outline
Scholars in the program will be involved in a variety of activities and support services designed to achieve program goals. Community building will be encouraged by participation in a required departmental S-STEM seminar, membership in student organizations like ACM and MAA student chapters, extracurricular academic activities like programming and mathematics contests, and departmental social gatherings. Academic success will be bolstered through faculty mentors, lab tutors, and the existing university support services. Finally, through the Cooperative Education, the Computer Science Industry Advisory Board, and ASU �s Career Development Center, scholars will be positioned to take advantage of a variety of employment opportunities in the high technology workforce.
To maintain eligibility in the program, scholars must have a 2.6
cumulative GPA, a 15-hour average course load, and a major in computer science,
mathematics, or statistics.
