Syllabus Calculus and Difference methods as used for business. We will cover material from Chapters 1 through 7 of the text. We will be making extensive use of software: Excel (data analysis and graphing) and Maple (symbolic math and graphing). 

Grading
3 one hour exams Test 1, Test 2, Test 3 ... 300 pt.
Quizzes & homework  ... 50 pt.
Projects & Reports  Projects ... 50 pt.

There are two requirements: 
   1.  Accumulate the necessary points:
93 % : A These are anticipated cut-off scores
83 % : B and may be lowered (but not raised).
73 % : C 
60 % : D 
   2.  Pass the final exam (at least 50%)
Generic Comments 
  • If you find a concept difficult, come in for help. Don't wait until an exam to prove that you do not understand a topic. 
  • If you cannot attend a test, make arrangements before an exam to make it up. There are no post hoc "make-ups". Quizzes will not be made up. Keep track of the days as exams and quizzes may move. 
  • Attendance is not required; however, mathematics can only be learned through active participation - not by osmosis. 
  • Cellphones must be turned off or silent during class.
