Linear Functions
The function
y = m(x + 3)
is graphed for m from -1 to +1.
Describe how y = mx + 3 would behave. When m is negative, we say the function is decreasing.
When m is positive, we have an increasing function.
The function below is
y = 0.5x + b
and is plotted for b from -2 to +2.
Recall that b is the y-intercept.
