For the 11am class only

The university has changed the exam options (yet again!) by scheduling a delay tomorrow---this only impacts people who selected the in-person paper exam, which the university has moved from Wednesday at 2 to Wednesday at 4.

I will be on Zoom at 8pm tonight, and in-person office hours at 3:15 tomorrow (Wednesday).

Select one option---the
multipart online format that opened Tuesday at 11 and closes Wednesday at 4:30
or
an in-person paper exam Wednesday at 4pm-6:30pm (since exams are now delayed on Wednesday) during the exam slot for the MW 4pm class:

If needed, people who do not have any access to internet or who lose power or have other unforseen conflicts should contact me as soon as possible on the ASULearn Forum. Stay safe and warm!

  • Option 1: Online format opened Tuesday at 11 and due by Wednesday at 4:30
Since "Faculty at their discretion may move their exams into an online format and forgo meeting for their exams," I am offering a multipart electronic engagement on WileyPlus and ASULearn, which opened during the scheduled 11-1:30 block of time, but from your home, or wherever you have online access. While some of these individual components are timed and will close within an allotted time from when they are opened, you have some flexibility for when you begin each part. However, you must complete these by Wednesday at 4:30. Part 1: First watch the video instructions on ASULearn to obtain the password
Part 2: WileyPlus self-reliance that is timed
Do not open the WileyPlus until you are ready to begin since it will close after the time is up. Only the following are allowed
    -the small handwritten index card
-Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Derivative Review sheet
    -Series Theorems sheet
    -Blank scrap paper for notes
    with no other help
Part 3: As each response is submitted, examine WileyPlus answers in preparation for your reflection, as it won't be open once the time is up.
Part 4: Individual reflection on ASULearn
Informal bullet points and lists are fine, but the reflection should be logical, thoughtful, and academic. Submit your reflection in the ASULearn assignment (NOT in the forum). The overall quality and depth of your reflection will form a portion of your final exam grade.
    1. Did you have any typos where you tried to put in an equivalent format numerically or algebraically but WileyPlus marked you as incorrect? If no, just say no. If yes, list the problem #s or problem descriptions and the issues you had.
    2. Given the answers and grading feedback from WileyPlus and your own perspectives, which one or two topics were your strongest?
    3. Given the answers and grading feedback from WileyPlus and your own perspectives, which one or two topics could you use the most improvement in?
    4. Reflect on the answers and grading feedback. What did you learn/solidify?
    5. What questions do you still have on the material?
    6. Aside from the issues in #1, which I'll look at closely and accommodate for equivalencies or minor typos, do you feel that WileyPlus gave you a fair grade? If yes, just say yes. If not, specify what grade you feel WileyPlus should have given you and why?
Part 5: [Only for those who still need to satisfy any learning goals] ASULearn self-reliance learning goal quizzes that are timed
    Only the following are allowed
    -the small handwritten index card
-Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Derivative Review sheet
    -Series Theorems sheet
    -Blank scrap paper for notes
    with no other help
  • Option 2: In-person paper exam Wednesday at 4pm in 304
Another option is that you are welcome to come in person on Wednesday at 4pm in room 304 (during the exam slot at MW 4pm---which possibly looks to be free for everyone) to take a paper exam. It's probably easier to show what you have learned in paper format, especially since I can see your thought process and award partial credit as needed, but it is your choice.
