  • To turn in: create one true/false question related to class material, write it down, and answer it [with a counterexample if false and a page number and explanation if true]. Also write down any questions you have related to test 1 (these can be: please review...) - I will take time to answer your questions, so be sure to prepare some!
  • Also prepare to turn in the homework that was due on Friday.

  • As of the 8:33pm message on Thursday, classes before 11am are cancelled, so our class is cancelled. Work on Monday's homework (and Friday's also if you did not already complete it - I will collect that on Monday too).

  • Obtain the textbook and i-clicker available for rental at the bookstore. Ask for managers Pam Walker or Patty Rodeheffer if there is any confusion about the clickers. Bring the i-clicker to all classes beginning on 1/22.
  • Read 1.1 and write down any questions you have.
  • Exercises to turn in - the answers to odd problems are in the back of the book - it is your job to show work/write down questions. This will count as participation and will not receive a specific grade, although I will mark whether you attempted the problems. Try these using by-hand row operations since you need to get efficient at the by-hand methods:
